Similarities India and Vietnam

The girls that went to India as well as the man who went back to Vietnam all felt as if they did not know the place that they were visiting. They were tourist amongst their own people.  Living an American lifestyle has put all three of these people in a different situation, as they know they are American, but do not fully fit in with America, but also they do not fit in with their homeland.  All three had a desire to go back to where they were born to see where they came from.  This is a sense of belonging and yet seeing the changes in their lives.  Searching for their heritage and roots helps to give each them a sense of knowledge.  All knowing where they came from yet having the desire to go back home to America.  They all see the advantages that they now possess being from America.  The culture of their homeland is good for an education of where they once was from, but it also a strange land and no longer home.
